Welcome to the Advantage Waste Recycling program
We are now rolling out curbside recycling to selected neighborhoods as part of our progressive recycling rollout. Since you were notified that recycling is now available to your neighborhood, here is how our program works:
Service: The recycing program uses comingled collection. This means that all clean recyclables are put together loose in the container (not bagged) and transported to a facility that will separate the different types for recycling. This results in convenience to the customer and easy transportation. No sorting of materials by customer, you may use only 1 container for collection, and it is easier to transport.
Container: We are using 95 gal. wheeled containers for collection of materials. This allows customers plenty of room to collect all the different types of materials together.
Schedule: Since you will have a large container for collection, we are able to provide collection bi-monthly. This means convenience to you as you only need to put out your recycling 2 times a month. But, it also means less deisel trucks in your neighborhood, and that cuts down on truck traffic as well as exhaust emissions. You will be notified which days will be recycling. It will coincide with your current trash day.
Cost: Advantage has always tried to maintain the lowest rate for regular trash collection. We are happy to continue that initiative with our recycling program. Our rate is only $5.00 per month in addition to your regular trash rate. In fact, our trash collection with recycling is even lower than what some companies charge just for trash service alone! Some have asked why we need to charge at all, and the short answer is, we have to cover the cost of the additional containers, truck, additional laborers, and fuel. But we think that $5.00 is a reasonable fee to cover all those costs.
When: If you sign up now, we will deliver containers when payment is received.
Why: Recycling also helps you comply with the NC state law banning plastics and aluminium from the landfills, but most important it helps our environment and our future.

Recycling is billed in full month increments only.
